THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW 👇👇 

This is a clarion call on all Sierra Leonean Djs across the country and other parts of the world to give more preference to our country’s music as we are now in a year. Let this  2019 be the rejuvenation year of Salone music as for so many years we have be lacking behind whilst other countries in Africa has been making significant mark in the world as far as entertainment is concern . 

I am calling on all DJ’s to make Sierra Leone proud by playing 90% of Salone music on all platforms as we have so many good songs that the general populace will relate to . This is the time we need to be patriotic to our beloved country mama Salone. Patriotism or national pride is the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland, and a sense of alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment. Our fellow compatriots (Artistes) are doing music as a career and as a source of survival why not support their livelihood but chooses to support foreigners over them?

This writer is not in any way trying to dictate to anyone but just bringing awareness to all and sundry that we as Dj’s owes an obligation to our country, we need to stand firm to make sure that our country’s contemporary music takes over the nook and cranny of the country like it’s used to be before foreign music invaded our country. Playing 90% of Salone music will make you a Patriotic Sierra Leonean DJ and the country will be very proud of you as a true citizen. 

My colleagues in the same Disc Jockey fraternity, now is the right time we need to embrace our artistes no matter what has happened in the past, now is the right time we need to change the narrative of Salone Music, now is the right time we have to place Salone music above all, now is the time for Salone music to take over the world and we should no longer demand money from artistes in order to play their songs. Collaborating with artistes to make shows after promoting their music should be our main focus.
